Call for applications: 9th Transitional Justice study trip in Rwanda

The University of Rwanda – College of Arts and Social Sciences (UR-CASS) has been annually organizing a Transitional Justice Study Trip to Rwanda but since last year 2018, the School of Law assumed the responsibility of organizing this trip.

In this regard, the forthcoming the 9th Transitional Justice study tour is scheduled from Sunday 31st March to April 5th, 2019.

This study trip aims at educating participants about Transitional Justice mechanisms adopted by Rwanda in the aftermath of the Genocide against the Tutsi that took place in 1994. It is designed to clarify the complexities involved in re-building a society after genocide, and will be comprised of two components: a literature study and a study tour. It will involve all stakeholders in Rwanda, visiting genocide memorial sites, solidarity camps, social- economic development initiatives and different crucial institutions involved in reconciliation efforts.
