Dr E KAYITANA holds a Doctor of Laws (LLD, Title of thesis: “Jurisdictional Problems of South African Courts in Respect of International Crimes) from North-West University, a Master of Laws (LLM) with specialisation in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure from the University of South Africa and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the National University of Rwanda. He has many training certificates in international law and international human rights law from Catholic University of Louvain and Leiden University. He previously occupied the office of Vice Dean in the School of Law at the University of Rwanda. He is also advocate, member of Kigali Bar Association and the East African Law Society.
