Me Laurent Shenge holds LL.M in International Human Rights Law and HIV in Africa from the University of Pretoria (South Africa) and LL.B from the National University of Rwanda. Prior to joining the School of Law, he worked with NGO (CONCERN World Wide Rwanda –Butare ) ( 1997-1998) in a community service project and has been teaching in a Private Secondary School ( APAME –MUGOMBWA) ( 1992-1994). As academic part, he has been, since 2009, tutoring in several courses such as Public International law, International Humanitarian law, Criminalistics and Seminars of Public law. He is teaching; comparative law; Family Mediation; legal clinic and criminalistics at UR School of Law as well as introduction to law (SSPAS). He co-teaches in CCLAP at UR School of Law. At UR Centre for Legal Aid and Mediation, he has been active in both General claims & Human Rights and HIV Units by supervising students who do the practical course of legal clinic and following up community based organizations of people living with HIV that worked with UR Legal Aid Clinic (2008- 2011) by handling their legal issues and providing legal trainings. Thanks to the support of Human Rights Development Initiative (HRDI), a non profit oriented organization based in Pretoria, South Africa; Me Laurent Shenge did much training in human rights especially in the protection and promotion of rights of people living with HIV in SADC and Great lakes regions.
